Case: RFID Tunnel System

CHALLENGE: REDUCE SCANNING TIME

One of the most promising areas of using RFID technology is to be able to read multiple tags in one time.  Many companies would like to have their goods with UHF tags can be scanned automatically without wasting time on individual scanning.  We have developed RFID Tunnel System to achieve this objective and our RFID tunnel has been installed in LF logistics and ICC International PLC.

SOLUTION

Our RFID tunnel is embedded with a RFID reader, RFID antenna and a touch screen PC.  The list of delivery item is downloaded into our RFID tunnel system.  When items with UHF RFID label pass through the tunnel, our system will read and verify if the items are matched with the delivery note or not.   Any mis-match or expired products will be highlighted on the touch screen in order avoid the mistake in the delivery.   This process can be done automatically without manual scanning.

RESULTS

  • Eliminate manual counting or scanning
  • Minimizing the risk of delivery wrong or expired products.
  • Increase the speed of delivery process

Case: Apollo Oil Phase II

CHALLENGE: AUTOMATE INTERNAL LOGISTICS

Apollo Oil would like to improve its logistic operation within its premises.  When the truck arrives, Apollo would like to automate the arrival, weighting and departure processes.  Besides, the company aims to increase the truck visibility by having truck information in real time manner.

SOLUTION

Passive RFID technology is selected to be used to meet the objectives. Each truck is tagged with a outdoor RFID label.  The tags are read automatically with the reader located at the entrance when the trucks arrive the factory.   After reading by the reader, the truck information is forward to data base application.  The staff at the warehouse will be able to prepare loading operation in advance.   After the loading, the truck will be moved to weighbridge.  Its information will be displayed on the weight program automatically. When the staff confirmed its weights, all truck information is kept in the data base preparing for exit the site.  With this solution, Apollo can eliminate the human operation on the internal logistic.

RESULTS

  • Give better fleet visibility for the logistics within its site
  • Eliminate human data entry
  • Truck status is digitalized in measurable format, while makes it possible to monitor and improve operation.

Case: Home Pro PLC Phase II

CHALLENGE: AUTOMATE INTERNAL LOGISTICS

Following the RFID implementation in Home Pro PLC., the company is interested to extend our RFID Fleet Visibility in the new warehouse.  The company would like to have a better visibility on its loading operation and the status of trailer within its new warehouse.

SOLUTION

Identify RFID Fleet Visibility Solution has been developed to support this expansion.   Since all of his trailers are attached with RFID tags, the company just needs to install only RFID readers and RFID antennas in the loading bays.  The 48 RFID antennas are installed in the loading bays having 1 antenna per 1 bay.  After the installation, the new loading bay are added into our system.  The key information of the loading bay operation will be forward to the center data base after the reader at the bay reads RFID tag in the trailer.  The warehouse staff is able to know which loading bay is in used and which one is not.  Among the using ones, he can monitor if the loading operation is under KPI or not in order to increase the operation.

RESULTS

  • Give better visibility on trailer
  • Eliminate human operation such as data entry or etc.
  • Increase the utilization of loading bay and its trailer
  • Truck and trailer status is digitalized in measurable format, while makes it possible to monitor and improve operation.

Case: RFID Pool Asset Management

CHALLENGE: AUTOMATE POOL ASSET MENAGEMENT

The investment in pool assets such as syringe pump, feeding pump, infusion pump or ventilator is critical issue in many hospitals.  An effective management on this type of asset is needed.   Having this asset more than the usage can be an over investment.  On the contrary, if the number of this asset fails to cope with the demand, it can cause serious problem in the hospital operation.  Identify RFID Pool Asset Management Solution is developed to enhance the management on this asset.

SOLUTION

Each asset is tagged with a RFID label.  An RFID reader is installed at the exit of the pool storage area.  Before taking the asset out for usage, the nurse has to enter the HN number which will use this equipment.   When the tag in the equipment is read by the reader, the system will automatically associate the equipment with the HN number and record this transaction into the data base.  After the usage and returning the equipment to the pool storage area, the reader at the entrance will automatically record this return.  Our software will match the returned equipment with the exit ones.   Any mis-matched or not return items will be notified in our software.  In addition, the system will calculate the usage period and the charge on the use of the equipment for individual HN.  Hospital will use this information to charge to his patient properly.

 RESULTS

  • Eliminate human data entry.  The whole process becomes paperless
  • Equipment status is digitalized in measurable format, while makes it possible to monitor and improve operation.
  • Effectively plan the appropriate quantity of each equipment
  • The usage can be charged to each client on the actual usage period, not on the estimation.

RFID Long Range People Tracking

CHALLENGE: AUTOMATE TRACKING PEOPLE ENTRANCE AND EXIT

Recording the number of visitors entering an event or conference is time consuming process and it can be difficult to manage due to the large number of people getting together.  Manual recording is not only ineffective but it is inconvenient.  Identify RFID Long Range People Tracking Solution is designed for managing the guests at your convention.   It can eliminate human intervention in manual recording and enhance data accuracy.

SOLUTION

Identify RFID Long Range People Tracking Solution is developed for trade event, business seminar or conference.  An RFID tag is assigned to individual person who would like to join the event. Long range RFID reader is installed at the entrance.  When the person with RFID tag is approaching the reader the entrance, the tag is read automatically by the reader.  After reading, his profile which is registered in the data base will be displayed on the monitor to welcome his visit and his entry time will be automatically recorded into the system.

RESULTS

  • Eliminate human data entry.   Manual recording when entering the event can totally eliminated
  • Reduce traffic on the entrance and exit
  • Enhance the image of the event
  • Visitor record is digitalized in measurable format, while makes it possible to monitor and improve operation.

Case: RFID Intelligent Cabinet

CHALLENGE: LOW VISIBILITY ON PRODUCT ON SITES

Many companies would like to increase the stock visibility of their products on client sites.  To increase the visibility, the companies may need to assign their staff to visit client sites more frequently and this can result in the increase of investment simultaneously.  Under this circumstance, it is the complicate task for companies to balance between the increase in investment and the better stock visibility.  Our RFID Intelligent Cabinet has been developed to solve this issue by improving stock visibility without increasing investment.

SOLUTION

Each product being stored in the cabinet is attached with a passive RFID label.  The RFID label is associated with product information including lot number, batch number, product description and expiry date or etc.   Our cabinet is embedded with RFID reader and cloud server connection.  The user just simply puts the product into the cabinet.  The system will automatically check an inventory of the cabinet on schedule basis.  Manual checking or bar code scanning is not needed.  After reading, the RFID tag ID will be sent to cloud server.  Our software will associate tag ID with its information and send a report via e-mail to the authorized person on daily basis.  The report will inform the current stock balance, the recommended quantity for replenishment and highlight any expired items.

RESULTS

  • Eliminate manual counting
  • Minimizing product expiry-related costs.
  • Reduce inventory cost
  • Reduce site visit time and its related investment
  • Eliminate the potential of using the expiry products.
  • Increase the efficiency on stock management on site
